More Vale units aboard NS #098 Monday, 20 May 2011
Caught up with this one at Woods, VA this late-afternoon - was by Bristow, VA at 2310 hours tonight, on the way to the port at Norfolk, VA.
These heavy-duty QTTX flats are getting a workout from GE - second and third trip for some of these.
Vale-EFVM 1297 atop QTTX 131300 (carried Transnet 43002 in December 2010 and Vale-EFVM 1277 in May 2011)
Vale-EFVM 1298 atop QTTX 131306 (carried Vale-EFVM 1279 in May 2011)
Vale-EFVM 1299 atop QTTX 131437 (carried Vale-EFVM 1278 in May 2011)
Vale-EFVM 1301 atop QTTX 131277 (carried Vale-EFVM 1280 in May 2011)
Vale-EFVM 1304 atop QTTX 131339 (carried Vale-EFVC 223 in May 2011)
Vale-EFC 222 atop QTTX 131381 (carried Vale-EFVC 216 in Mar 2011)
Vale-EFVM 1300 atop QTTX 131344 (carried Vale-EFVC 211 in Mar 2011 and Vale-EFVM 1288 in May 2011)
Again, this time, no opportunity to check builder's decals for dates or numbers. Ditto for order/frame numbers. Train was moving and was dark when stopped for crew change.
Did hear from a correspondent who also saw last weekend's 098, the builder'sm decals and provided the following data - the 1295 and 1296 build numbersmappear out of sequence, I asked if there was any way to verify the info (time sequence of photographs, for example), have not heard back yet.
Vale-EFC 224 - ES58ACi - Serial No 60322 - Built 3/11
Vale-EFVM 1295 - D9-40BBW - Serial No 60295 - Built 5/11
Vale-EFVM 1296 - D9-40BBW - Serial No 60294 - Built 5/11
Anyone know how many total Vale-EFC units are being built this time around? Is 224 the last one?
